The Gospel of Judas

The recent publishing of the Gospel of Judas shows us once again the difference between the canonical gospels and the counterfeits. It is replete with Gnosticism, which was one of the major enemies of the early church.

Forms of this deadly heresy are alive and well today in every Christian spirituality that tries to bypass/deny/downplay our humanity, our earthiness. It is an attempt to control our bodies so we can be free into spirit. It has little or no place for the mundane, little value on what we can see and touch, etc.
